It's been quite a while, isn't it? :)

It's been two months, pretty much spent on those quiet thoughts and self reflections.

(Though I always seem to be slacking my days away to most.)

Constantly having too many ideas running in my mind,
But I don't know how or where to start penning them down.

Well,

It's time to end February with yet another happy note,

And March is gonna be an exciting and busy-bee month ahead! ;)

Dear bought me a white iPhone 4S! ;D

It's an early Valentine's Day present from him heehee..

I know, I finally got an iPhone right?

I've decided to try my luck at SingTel Comcentre yesterday,
Despite being told by the CSO that there are no stocks island-wide for the past few days.

Like HELLO SINGTEL (pun intended), how can that be possible right?

And yeah, I was right!

I was ecstatic when I saw the phone stock availability on the board in the shop.

Phew, fortunately I didn't make a wasted trip!

And oh yes, I've decided to ditch Starhub and 吃回头草.

*sheepish grin*

The porting process took faster than I expected!
Singtel informed on the same day via SMS that my porting request is successful and the number will be ported over to Singtel the very next day.
My Starhub SIM card was also deactivated barely 8 hours after I signed up with Singtel.
And my number has already been ported over this morning. ;)
Thus the temporary Singtel number given to me is really redundant LOL.

I didn't know that getting an iPhone case is such a difficult and tedious task!
Walked around ION, Plaza Singapura and Tampines before I settled with a red leather case.
I got it one of the push carts in Century Square, and coincidentally the owner used to work at Starhub!
Initially, I got a plastic white case but it didn't fit somehow; the case is too small for the phone.
So I went back and "upgraded" to the leather case.
Felt pretty bad because the owner actually offered to give me free screen and back protectors!
Awesome customer service aye! *thumbs up* ;)
I bet he cannot stand seeing the bubbles on my phone hahaha..
Not that I suck at pasting screen protectors, the screen protector included with the white case is really lousy.
Even he himself also made a similar comment LOL.
Anyway, in case you are interested, the push cart is located in front of Montip. :)

I've been fiddling with the phone the whole night yesterday. :p
After figuring out how to transfer my contacts via Google Contacts,
I'm left with downloading of apps now!

The first app I thought of and downloaded is neither Facebook nor Twitter, but Instagram. :p

Hahaha..So follow me on Instagram even though I've not started snapping pictures yet!

Am a little annoyed about Whatsapp though.

I was shocked to find out that Whatsapp is charging $0.99 now. D:
Though the price is cheaper than a canned drink at any coffee shop in Singapore,
But I simply refuse to download the app, because I didn't have to pay when I used it on my Blackberry Bold and HTC Desire previously.
So for the time being, I can only use Whatsapp on my HTC Desire at home where wifi connection is present. :/
Oh wells!

My Chinese New Year in KL! (Part III)

The last installment of my Chinese New Year 2012! X)

Calvin brought Audrey and I to Ben's for lunch on Friday because we uhm,
We slept wayyyy too much for the past two days and missed having dimsum TWICE hahaha..

Poor Calvin who had a hard time waking us up on both days! ;p

Didn't have much appetite that day since I just woke up,

So I had the above two only.

Love this kind of mushroom soup! :9

The cappuccino was so-so; I would rather go for Calvin's latte!

I like her drink! Very refreshing and it reminded me of that lime ice cream I used to eat when I was young heh heh..
The portion was too big for her though.
So much that the packed leftovers was enough for another full meal. :O

We went to buy stuff for the BBQ session at this wholesale supermarket called NSK Trade City after lunch.

The supermarket is damned big lah, and it also sells items to retailers at wholesale prices.

Calvin excitedly showed us the BIGGEST stingray I ever seen, and it costs more than a hundred bucks.
(Actually I thought that it's cheap for that size lah...)
And we were kinda freaked out by the gigantic fish head at the back of the counter too.
It has this expression -> D:
No kidding. I still have that image of that poor fish head in my head. :/

Okay sorry to digress hahaha..
Back to our BBQ session at Audrey's house! :D

Using an electrical fan is the fastest way to get the fire started.

Omigosh Uncle Sunny's barbecued bacon slices are SUPER DUPER WUPER ZUPER YUMMY!
Don't know how he did it but he barbecued the slices so perfectly!
Tasted so much better than bak kwa!
No wonder my cousins love bacon so much.
Coz I myself couldn't stop putting the barbecued slices in my mouth hahaha..

According to Uncle Sunny,
One should first barbecue the bacon because its fats will produce oil.
This didn't occur to me though,
Perhaps because I rarely barbecue and I don't see people barbecuing bacon in Singapore.
But now I know hiakhiakhiak...

I felt quite bad sitting down there eating only so I wanted to help out with the barbecuing.
But it was pretty crowded at the barbecue pit, so I walked to and fro a couple of times.
Okay sounds like a lousy excuse haha...
Though I suck at barbecuing, hopefully I can help out the next time round! ;D
(That's if nobody minds my rookie barbecue skills lah.)

My cousins also introduced a new barbecue dish: barbecued hashbrowns with butter!
I've never heard of this before, but hey it's damned yummy lah!
It's one of the top few in my Happy BBQ Food list too (with the barbecued bacon being first in the list of course!).
And not to forget Audrey's signature barbecued butter prawns with salt!
Wah super delicious lo!

Realised that I was too busy eating the prawns at that point of time, thus I've forgotten to take pictures. :/

Now the chicken wings look pale in comparison... Hahaha...

My sister and brother-in-law made a last minute decision to come down to KL during the weekend.

All for the legendary crab and yam porridge (my grandmother's recipe!). ;9

And this was when the food marathon began!

We had dim sum for lunch,

And then we had crab porridge and stir-fried prawns when we got home!

Awesome crab and yam porridge!

And soon it was dinner time!
We had... STEAMBOAT! :D
There were 7 of us but since most of us were pretty full,
So we ordered a standard set for 3 persons and a few ala carte dishes.
But wow, the amount of food was more than enough for all of us!

We had lunch and also took a few pictures with the cousins before leaving. ;)

If you realised,

Most of the pictures above are of food, food and MORE FOOD.

Hahaha I figured that if I were to stay in KL for a longer period, I would be a Miss Fatty Bom Bom.

We barely have the opportunity to walk as we were driven around!

But I'm not complaining, because the food and snacks that my relatives cooked/made/recommended are simply tooooooo yummy!
Did I mention that my 阿姨s have given me SIX bottles of freshly fried arrowhead chips after knowing that I love to eat these chips?
Teeheehee I feel so loved! ;D

In fact, I didn't have the usual fare I always have whenever I'm in KL - Hokkien Mee and mamak food this time round.

Well, there's always a next time! ;D

But before that "next time" comes, I definitely need to lose some weight first!

My Chinese New Year in KL! (Part II)

I'm back with Part II! :D

初二 & 初三 were mainly spent on going to various temples with the adults!

I've shamelessly took quite a number of Andrew's pictures off Facebook too.

It's pretty easy to differentiate, coz obviously he takes better pictures right? ;)

初二

We went to Beatrice's house to have Uncle Jimmy's signature Thai style laksa and nasi lemak for lunch!

After lunch, we went to Shah Alam Buddhist Society for praying!

After that, we went to Carrefour for grocery shopping.

And I bought my 3 packets of Maggi curry noodles there!

You might be wondering why since they are readily available in Singapore supermarkets too.

It's because the ones I bought in Singapore tasted really bland for some strange reasons. :/

Just when I thought that 3 packets may be too many, judging that I shouldn't be consuming so much of such unhealthy food,

My relatives went,

"Ah yo why did you buy so few packets?! Where got enough?!"

Hahaha..

And I just found out that adding an egg into the instant noodles makes it super yummy!

Okay I know, I'm such a noob when it comes to instant noodles. :p

Went to McDonald's for some quick bites with the cousins,

Because Chatime was closed, much to our disappointment! :(

We should have expected uh? It's Chinese New Year!

Boy, I was told that this place is pretty near but it seemed otherwise with the mothers of traffic jams!

It's pretty similar to River Hongbao Singapore in my opinion.

初三

Accompanied my mum and relatives to 拜太岁!

Sat down at the side of the temple with my cousin Fiona and 八姨, watching people attempting to lift the 关刀 which was placed near the entrance.

We both tried to lift it up too!
But it was too heavy for us lah...

My mum later on mentioned that one is supposed to pray and make a wish before the attempt (which we didn't :/),

If you are faithful enough, you shouldn't have any problems lifting the heavy 关刀.

And that's Jeremy with his successful attempt!

After that,

We headed to Batu Caves!

Check out the loooooooooong flight of stars behind the Buddha statue.

I can't imagine how long I would take to climb up to the cave. :S

I think I need to roll down the stairs because my legs would have turned wobbly by the time I reach the peak.

My Chinese New Year in KL! (Part I)

恭喜发财，红包拿来!

Before I start on this post,

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year,

May the year of Water Dragon brings you good luck, health and wealth! HUAT AH! :)

Hope everyone had a good break during the long weekend!

This year, I suggested spending our Chinese New Year with our relatives in KL,

And so we did! ;D

(Oh did I mention that each coach ticket costs us SGD$80 because of CNY?! *gasp*)

Though the coach took longer than usual to reach KL as it stopped by Seremban,

We arrived just in time for the reunion dinner!

My cousin, Audrey fetched and dropped us at my 二姨's house to freshen up, before going to my 二表嫂's shop for our reunion dinner! ;)

大年初一

It was a rare occasion which most of us were decked in pink & red,

So we decided to take a few pictures in the garden before going to Audrey's house to spend our 大年初一 together!

With my 表姐 and 表哥s' children! :)

Audrey gave me a bowl of mushroom soup with shark's fin & crab meat she cooked the moment we reached! (YUMMY!)
She said that her dad had finished most of it alone (O.O) so this was the last bowl for me.

Audrey's brother, Calvin bought this super giant tin of Garrett popcorn for us!

I've never seen anyone in Singapore buying such huge tins before HAHA..

Maybe it's too expensive here? *shrugs*

Comes in 3 flavours yo!

He also shared bak kwa and dried scallops he bought from HK with us!
There are a couple of different flavours for the bak kwa, such as Curry, Fruit Juice, Garlic, Isoyaki Roasted Pork etc.

And not to forget about the "in house" toffee nut latte he made for us! ;D

I would love to request for it every single day if I could HAHA...
But I was too shy lah. Can't possibly ask him to switch on the coffee machine just to make a cup for me only right?

What's CNY without gambling?
Haha we were too bored and decided to start the gambling session early in the afternoon.

But I figured that gambling is really not my kind of game!

Not sure if it's only for this year though, coz I don't gamble at all in the past.

We played Blackjack and In Between, which I lost money in ALL 4 sessions. :'(

Anyway, most of my money went into my parents' and my sister's pockets.

So that kinda, erms made me feel a little tinny winny better about my losses hahaha..

I was told that no photography is allowed during gambling because it will bring the gamblers bad luck!
This is the first time that I've heard about this but we decided to 宁可信其有，不可信其无 anyway.

And maybe this is the very reason why I lost money boohoohoo... X(

We stopped the first Blackjack game shortly and adjourned to the living room to watch HK dramas. :p

I was following this HK drama called 换乐无穷 on Astro on-demand, but unfortunately I didn't manage to finish the series (just a few more episodes lo!) because...

Astro refused to show the subtitles all of a sudden! X(
Everything was okay initially until the subtitle & language functions simply refused to work for no reason.

So sad right! *sniffs*

I tried to figure out what the actors were talking with my less than 半桶水 command of Cantonese.

But I gave up eventually coz I obviously failed to comprehend bleahs.

Journey to the West

I went to Clementi 2 days ago to do my gelish manicure, as per Felicia's recommendation. : )

It's been ages since I last travelled that far,

(OMG I sound like a 宅女 lol...)

And gosh, Clementi has a Clementi Mall now!
Y U NO open when I was still in SIM leh? :p

And guess what?

Gothere.sg did NOT update its maps as Clementi Mall is not in the map I looked up for!
Friends on my Twitter should know that I've already been cheated by Gothere.sg for god-knows-how-many times! -_-"

I didn't use Google maps because anything *coughs* I'm serious, anything can drain my phone battery now. D':
Fortunately. it didn't take me too long to get to my destination, as it's supposedly very near the MRT station....
But if and only if Clementi Mall did not exist. >.<
Though I walked in rounds, but thankfully my long legs and sense of direction (LOLWTF yeah right) brought me to the right block within 5 minutes.
PHEW.

My virgin gelish manicure experience!

My nails don't look that bad I hope!

I didn't have any inspirations for CNY and plus I cut my nails short 1.5 weeks ago,

So I didn't do anything too fanciful to my nails.

男厕女厕，傻傻分不清楚。

I hesitated for a moment because of her 'moustache',
Or rather her upper lip lah.
Maybe the interior designers these days are not good at coming out with silhouetted toilet signs. -_-"

On a brighter note, Qi's & my LilyPirates dresses arrived!
I decided to buy the red one in the end after garnering a few votes (not a lot lah, only 3 votes from Dear, Mum and Jessica LOL).
At first I thought that I wouldn't look nice in a bright floral dress because I'm not into floral prints,
But after trying on the dress, I was totally wrong! ;D

Took the above picture for Qi's viewing because I found it very funny to have a size label for the sash as well.
But it does make sense because I reckon that the manufacturer didn't want to mix up the different lengths for different sizes.
Just that I have to cut it off because there is no other way I can remove it.

We went to Bedok Blk 85 for our dinner!
It's because I had cravings for the BBQ chickie wings again.
(Bet Dear is rolling his eyes right now hahaha..)

The food centre was especially crowded that day!
And we had to wait for 30 minutes for the chickie wings! *horrified*
But it was not a bad thing because we got to eat piping hot BBQ chickie wings after finishing other food we ordered. :D~

So yeah that's all for my Friday!
I reckon that this dinner was one of the most filling/sinful/unhealthy meals I had for the past 2 weeks.
Because it actually made my just-turned-flatter tummy bloated LOL.
Yeah so now you know my mum's home-cooked food is pretty healthy aye? X)

Cheeung in the town yo!

Jessica was in town for a few weeks!

It's a pity that we only get to meet up twice during her short stay in Singapore.

But better than nothing right? ;)

I had lunch with her and Qi last Friday at VivoCity.

Almost got lost in the huge shopping centre (as usual)!

Fortunately I made the right turns and thus didn't 走冤枉路.

Took a picture before Qi goes back to her office!

After bidding goodbye to Qi,

Jessica and I went to Orchard to buy things she needed!

Reckon Orchard is still the best place to shop.

Or perhaps we were just too lost in VivoCity lol..

I wanted to buy a new pair of shoes for CNY but...

I ended up buying my favourite pineapple tarts from the Takashimaya CNY fair!

I patronized this stall for the 2 consecutive years, after an ex-colleague recommended it to me last year.

But the funny thing is, I still don't know the name of the stall! Hahaha...

Okay the funnier thing is, as the pineapple tarts I bought are more expensive than the ones I bought last year.

So I asked the person why, and guess what she said?

"Oh the pineapples we used this year are from Sarawak,
unlike last year which local pineapples were used."

HAHAHA I was utterly speechless.

I meant, I wouldn't be able to tell even if you tell me that the pineapples are from Thailand or Hawaii.

But I still bought them anyway!

The pineapple tarts are so delicious with the cheesey bits and they are not too sweet too - just nice to my liking.

So yes, I succumbed despite the price hike.
And I told Dear to chew the tarts slowly before he swallows them,

Because each tart costs about 60 cents (I think?).

As they needed some time to pack my 2 x 100 freshly baked pineapple tarts, we were told to walk around and come back later for collection.

But we decided to sit down and take a break (and some pictures too)! X)

After looking at the pictures above,

All I can say is...
I really need to fix my hair badly.
Imagine not cutting/colouring your hair for more than 4 months!

Maybe on a brighter side, I think this hairstylist is quite good.
At least my hair doesn't look that cui (besides the hair colour lah).

Perhaps this is the best thing about having straight hair!

Though I do miss my curls occasionally. :/

Next, it's Thazin's turn to be back home for CNY!

Can't wait can't wait! ;)
And then Jessica will be back again later this year WOOHOO!

Though it's usually difficult to have both of them back in the sunny island at the same time,

First weekend of 2012!

How's everyone's first week of 2012 so far?
Hope it was great for you!

As for me it's of course... AWESOME! X)

Firstly, I get to sleep and wake up later hiakhiakhiak!
Okay I know, this is an extremely bad habit and I usually end up feeling guilty for wasting time sleeping. :P
And also because I get to do my own things!

Not that I don't get to do so in the past, but my energy level was usually always less than 30% after work. :/
Though it was a productive week for me,
But my To-Do List is still super duper wuper zuper (you get the drift uh?) long, and I reckon that I will take quite some time to clear the list boo.. X(

I had dinner with the BimBOHs to celebrate our Zhi Jun 姐姐的 birthday at Gyu-Kaku a few days ago.
It was my first time there, and man, I totally love the marinated pork!
The birthday girl and Pris the connoisseurs ordered all the delicious food. :D~

We were given a table in a VIP room, in which there are two tables (including ours).
I hope we didn't scare the people sitting at the neighbouring table!
But I reckon that we did anyway, especially when we were taking group photos hahaha..
When there was a moment of utter silence and Kiat Yee commented "So quiet.",
I saw the guys trying to contain their laughter because they were so quiet because they were looking at us taking photos.

Felicia made a really funny remark that we should 聊通宵 together since we don't have to work the next day.
And guess what? I really tossed and turned on the bed until 3am!
I should have really stayed out with Felicia hor! HAHAHA... #justsayinglah

Okay I know that there are not a lot of clothes, partly because I'm not an impulsive buyer HAHAHA.

I'm selling them off generally for two reasons:

1. I doubt I will wear these apparels often. :(

2. I really don't look good in these apparels. :(

Be rest assured that 本姑娘's clothes are washed or worn ONCE ONLY.

Some of them are even brand new lo.

So they aren't second-hand in my opinion lah. :p

I also foresee that I'll dig out more clothes from my wardrobe *coughs in guilt*,

And since most of them are not purchased from blogshops,

I'll try to take pictures in them when I have the time (and when I'm not feeling fat ._____.).

So meanwhile, please SUPPORK my sales corner okay! :D

A brand new chapter.

New Years always spell new beginnings.

Though I don't really think that we should wait for New Year just to start afresh with a new list of resolutions,

2011 was unusually special; perhaps it was because I've decided to end the year with a different note.

It's been 2 years and 9 months; eventful, yet so enriching.

I can never say enough about how thankful I am for all the learning opportunities given,

And how much I really appreciate the help rendered by the kind souls I met during this period.

The journey in 2011 was of course, not a smooth-sailing one.

But after learning so many valuable lessons & with the experience gained,

I can say that I've became a stronger and better Stephanie now.

And yes, I will definitely continue to be. ;)

So looking forward to penning down my new and exciting chapters down in my book of life!

And oh, no particular resolutions set for the year of 2012 as usual.

I do not want to feel guilty about not fulfilling them at the end of the year heh..

But I do hope that I can fulfil one motto.. and that is...

Carpe Diem. :*)

The birthday that lasted beyond 24 hours

Meiyi made these two really pretty mini cakes for my birthday! ♥

I couldn't stop smiling at the picture while blogging heehee..
I bet she has spent a lot of time making them!

Plus she told me that this is her first attempt, super touched lah!

By the way, dunch these cakes remind you of the cotton cottage in the fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel? ;p

I had a wonderful birthday this year, despite the fact that I didn't take leave on my birthday itself.

My neighbour colleague who sits opposite me surprised me with a small Breadtalk birthday cake early in the morning,

On top of the Baskin Robbins birthday cake (it's much yummier than Swensen's!) I had together with the other 2 December babies in my office. ;)

I had a simple dinner at Chikuwa Tei with Dear after work.

Indulging in happy food made our tummies very happy hiakhiakhiak! :9

My sis bought me an owl necklace from Swarovski, quite pretty right? ;D
It reminds me of the Sun Moon Lake and its owl belief;
Owls are sacred animals to the Thao tribe and they believe that owls protect pregnant women.

And I'm also reminded by the fact that I'm nocturnal, like an owl too... :p

My 2 dear cousins, Audrey and Andrew also delivered a birthday card with their individual handwritten messages, when they came down to Singapore from KL last Thursday. X)

Caught the preview of Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 yesterday evening with Sharon!

She's so lucky to win a pair of movie tickets from Y.E.S. 93.3FM.
But I'm quite lucky too, coz I get to 托她的福 teeheehee! ;D

Totally entertained by the Chipmunks and Chipettes throughout the movie.

But I like Theodore the most!
Maybe because he looks so chubby (that I wanna pinch his cheeks!) and innocent.
Heh, especially when he gave Dave that handmade necklace (awws that pair of big round eyes!)...
But when they started singing really randomly... -_-"

Since we didn't make it to meet the mascots, so we hafta make do with these Chipmunks instead LOL.

Oh I have a random question before I end this entry.

While waiting for our dinner bill yesterday,
I made a random ~~and lame~~ remark to Sharon that the reason why we waited so long was probably because the cashier was using an abacus to calculate the bill with 15% discount.

(I know it's damned lame lah, but even the lady next table uhm-chioed okay? ;p)

So it suddenly dawned on me that you really can't use an abacus to calculate discounts, can you?

Okay to be honest, I'm not sure about this. So does anyone know if it is possible? ;p

The Archer's Birthday

December is always my most favourite month of the year.

Besides the festive mood it brings,

It's also my birthday month teeheehee!

But this also means that it's the season to be jolly and fattttttt... D:

Here are a couple of pictures which I took with the BimBOHs yesterday. ;)

We had dinner at PS. Cafe but I thought the food was quite meh.
Thankfully the service was pretty good... though I wished that we didn't need a black strand of hair AND a white strand of brush bristle to know their service standard. D:

Well, I guess it's okay because it's the company (and the lame jokes) that matters most after all! ;)

By the way this is minced lamb lasagne camouflaged by greens. Bet you can't tell rrrrrrright? ;p
